Organizer of Failed Fyre Festival Pleads Guilty to Fraud

"Both counts that Mr. McFarland pleaded guilty to carry maximum penalties of 20 years in prison, though a sentence of that length seems unlikely. His sentencing is scheduled for June 21.

The losses to investors were significant, (26 million) and that matter in the sentencing.... but his criminal history is 0, and he pleaded early and accepted responsibility. I think it is possible he gets 60 months. A lot will depend on what the prosectors ask for, and whether McFarland has been cooperating in other lines of investigations.

To keep in perspective, Martin Skhrelli could get 180 months on Friday, the losses were deemed significant enough to give him a 26 point sentencing enhancement, and his behavior during the trial has been unrepentant.
