It’s absolutely crazy how people are resistant to using tools.
One thing that’s really struck me is that traditional Engineers are some people who are the most resistant to change. That’s a bad sign.
For example, Electrical Engineers always give the same excuse that “the old software works fine” but these things are absolutely clunky af to use. They’re 90’s artifacts. Yes, it works but it’s not “fine” and is honestly not optimal: people just don’t want to be bothered to learn the newer tools because they don’t want to learn as they get older. It’s honestly why a lot of people hate going into software because they feel like learning should stop after college.
They get mad at the newer kids knowing how to use the newer tech because they themselves didn’t bother to keep up and so they slam the newer tools for ridiculous reasons. It’s like people who think Notepad is fine for writing code. Same folks who refuse to admit some of these new IDE’s are in fact better than something like EMacs. Same people who think A.I can’t do their jobs because they don’t even bother looking at the strides it’s making in the field. That’s how people basically get blindsided.

Ay breh you know since you're deep in the AI rabbit hole, do you happen to have a little list of what AI platforms are the best for what? Like Claude for writing is excellent and Perplexity good for research etc...I think there's a lot more people in our society who aren't doing just that than we're willing to admit.
don't really have a list of sites on hand and i mostly use llm's for coding scripts, formatting text , summary/explanations.
i use perplexity, deepseek, various qwen models, chatgpt, sometimes gemini.
recently been trying out kimi.ai but haven't gotten great code from it but the context length is 128K for free with web search.
i suggest you try out any llm with free access to see what output you prefer for a given task. i tend to run the same prompt on 5+ llm's to see what sort of output i get.
i vaguely recall a repo that may have listed fre llm's , i'll go looking for it later, it's possible I shared it previously on this forum.
