Companies that have tips should be be giving their workers a higher wage instead.

When you do the math, even if they gave waiters higher wage, the tips still add up to be more. They could pay workers $18/hr and it still wouldn't come close to tips.

In the right city and restaurant/bar/club, waiters can pull $60k +

A lot of waiters i knew could easily get more than $18/hr in tips is basically what I'm saying.

I knew some that had great nights okay night and meh nights. Also, it's not just waiters how are getting tips. A lot of other food service places now ask for tips after you order

No taxes on tips just hurts the worker in the long run because the taxes go towards social security ie their retirement.
