North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And if it were eliminated, how much efficient/cost effective would it be?

if they didn't have to worry about junk mail. 90% of mail I get, is junk mail :scust: I went paperless with all of my bills, so it would be safe to assume, that better that better than 50% of mail is junk.

Amazon deliveries make up another huge block of business, and eventually they will be squeezed out by Amazon's on distribution channels.

Don't they make money a bunch of junk mail though?

Yeah, but that shouldn't be the case.

They allowed UPS, FedEx and eventually Amazon to take market share by not adapting. If they are being propped up by junk mail then what's the point of even existing? They have a monopoly on PO Box deliveries, and certified mail. That's about it.

The organization as a whole needs to be either re-invented or done away with and let UPS/Fed Ex take over their type of deliveries.

i check my mail once a month, and end up filling my outdoor recycling bin 1/4 full with junk mail every month, that's ridiculous

if we're serious about the environment, we need to stop junk mail. people who want coupons can subscribe to it via email/text. if i want a credit card, i know how to find it on the internet. grocery stores put their specials on their websites and have circulars in store. get this shyt out my mailbox...you can't even easily opt out if.

The issue comes down to funding the post office adequately. Politicians from both sides have not, so you will see junk mail.

We make fun of Trump’s water pressure stuff, but that appeals to many Americans. If Biden made a statement about limiting junk mail through proper funding, I’m sure many Americans would support that too. Everything is local.

Dont act like you never came across a piece of "Junk Mail" and was like "Oh shyt I could use this"

Junk Mail is extremely effective, especially for the local businesses in your area.

If anything, instead of looking to end these advertisements - they should mail out surveys to everyone and you select the type of ad mail that you would prefer to receive. Creating specialized mailing markets

To be honest people would just be partisan like with anything else. If Biden said he wanted more funding for USPS, Trump supporters would be against it just because. :yeshrug:

i absolutely have not. even when i end up on a mailing list from a company i bought something from (i.e. i get a catalog from a clothing company i buy from online) i don't open or look at it. i dont know anyone under the age of 50 wasting their time opening shyt addressed to "dear neighbor at -insert address here-"

as for opting into the shyt you want - we have that, it's called email and mobile marketing. physical junk mail is obsolete, especially for millions of gen x, millennials, and gen z who don't use/check the mail due to the way we communicate (digitally) and do business now. and the radio, billboards, and TV still exist for spam/mass marketing
