Roughly 2.5 years after my father passed. To give you some insight into him he was my stepfather's older brother. I met him when I was 11-12 at his church when he was a pastor in Augusta, Georgia. I wasn't super close to him but he was ALWAYS loving and embraced me as his own flesh and blood when I was growing up. He would always ask about me, always pray for my continued health and success, etc.
What I'm sad about is my aunt, his wife. Last time I saw him he lost a LOT of weight and was having a heart condition for some time (similar to my father), broke his hip, the meds he was on affected his memory to the point that he kept forgetting my father passed. When I saw him I KNEW it was a matter of time until he died.
I know he was going through a bit of grief after his passing.
Unfortunately even if I could travel to Georgia now I probably couldn't attend a funeral because the church is only allowing 10 people max so my mother may go and I am going to give my aunt some money to help out.
RIP and take care of your loved ones and cherish your time together!
