In the old politics, her quote was right. The problem is we did not get where we are spur of the moment. Republicans have been planning shyt and Trump became the perfect fool to rope in the support to pull the ultimate chess move.
What was the Democratic plan? There wasn’t one. It’s time to acknowledge it. They just hoped to have “better”, more electable candidates while keeping the same status quo that would cause people to be so blind/hateful that they vote arsonists into office. As popular as Obama is and was, its a fukking shame he did not have “acolytes “ who could push for some of the more transformative policies he wanted but couldn’t deliver due to political gridlock. When Obama sat down, the plan went from “first black President “ to “first woman President” with no broader narrative. White supremacists can live and die with hatred. What did the Dems give that we could live and die believing in? No, it wasnt all bad, but there is zero continuity except taking care of corporate donors.
