Haven't tried home...doesn't look like something I'd want. But the separate "chat heads" feature that works with it is actually not bad. It can be used without using Facebook home.
The way I see it...its just like any pop up messenger you can get in then play store but slicker. It also consolidates all messages...whether MMS..SMS..Facebook messages..etc. I think its decent.
