He started out battlin. Has some of the greatest diss records. Danced. Didn't use hype men. Push the boundaries with fashion. Made songs for the ladies. Really had bars...maybe he's the complete package that we've never seen before or since

Its been pretty much debated that Jay Z was the new Big daddy kane in the same sense that Nas was the new Rakim
his influences precede rap so hes a well rounded entertainer. kane thought way outside the box...

to know how to get over the technical know how.
to make one syllable rhymes on a 90 plus bpm scale.
Translate to a slower bpm scale and pocket.
Which is why bdk and LL fell off after one shot at love and back on the block. Trying to perfect the rnb pocket slow song skill set of that sonic landscape as an emcee.
LL figured it out and swaggers past bdk and bdk fell all the way off till a skill relaunch on veteran's day.
