South Central Los Angeles So Wut U Wanna Do??
Its been pretty much debated that Jay Z was the new Big daddy kane in the same sense that Nas was the new Rakim
Jay wasn't dancing didn't make any music for ladies until 3 albums in and definitely wasn't fresh to death

What was the whole Big Daddy Kane vs Rakim thing about? Can someone older break it down for me?

No one in general can duplicate bdk, because the bpm's are to slow and this Gen are not technical marvels at rap.
to know how to get over the technical know how.
to make one syllable rhymes on a 90 plus bpm scale.
Translate to a slower bpm scale and pocket.
Which is why bdk and LL fell off after one shot at love and back on the block. Trying to perfect the rnb pocket slow song skill set of that sonic landscape as an emcee.
LL figured it out and swaggers past bdk and bdk fell all the way off till a skill relaunch on veteran's day.
Starting on mackula, tho.
Which did not get back to real skill levels till the man, the icon twelves era.
with the vocal tonality and pocket to be able to spit.
the slow flow that bdk mastered after krs crushed the slow flow buildings.

I am the only guy in rap.
who has the technical aptitude to do what Kane was doing and excel at it on lower bpm's.
