What if I told you that even (most) McDonalds managers have a hard time living off their salaries? Would you then understand how the pay scale in this country needs to be fixed?

They would tell you that McDonalds is for high schoolers and college age students and its their fault they are paid so low.

Just give a general consensus on what wages should be high Cost of living areas and Low Cost of living areas. I'm genuinely curious. :jbhmm:

The fact that you stated the bolded means a livable wage wouldn't work because I believe that a vast majority of poor folks are single parents with kids. Correct me if I'm wrong.:yeshrug:

Here's some single mother statistics.

Single Mother Statistics (UPDATED 2021)

What about single fathers that have to pay child support? And of course single mothers are gonna be more liable to live in poverty. One income, plus having to pay for child care etc.

I honestly dont know, on the numbers. I dont know what areas across the country charge for cost of living. If I had to take a wild (ignorant) guess...

somewhere between $12 and $14 in places like bumfukk Idaho/South Dakota/North Dakota etc. In places like NYC.. $20-$22 ... and yea I know that wont get them everything they want.. but it should get them what they need. You want more.. then thats when I give them a trade school brochure or I help them tidy up their resumes. :manny:

The cost of living is really based on the demand in your area.
The only way you can really fix it is if you set a limit on rent.

I think rent has gotten so out of control, that we'd have a better chance of severely upping the minimum wage, than to get housing to come back down to realistic prices.
