Yea its time to have the discussion. :yeshrug:

You wanna talk about Cole & Kendrick but Future is the most consistent rapper of this generation not named Drake (even tho Future makes the better music imo). We talking bout over 10 years going thru different eras rather it was Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Rylo Rodriguez, etc. He lasted (no Diddy)

Not speaking as a lyricist, but ALL around artist yes. He makes the best music out the bunch on some Kanye type shyt. Also he the most influential out the big 3

BeastMode, Monster, 56 Nights, DS2, EVOL, INLY, & now We Don’t Trust You. All hits now we in the 2020s (at 40 YEARS OLD) and he ain’t slowing down :wow:

Give the man his flowers he a hip hop goat and should get the same respect as the others

5 star thread but they gon be mad as hell you even put this up
Another thing for me I think artists need to be rated on how much they drop as well
Future is a prolific recording artist vs someone like Kendrick who has six projects in fourteen years
That type of shyt should discredit you in my opinion, no other rapper in anybodies top 5 besides BIG has such a small body of work for the period they were active
Kendrick is also arguably the least influential rapper of the Big 3 despite his acclaim

I’d agree with Future > Cole. But Kendrick and Drake are great at making art for their lane as well. I think those would be my big 3 re: the best rap artists from their era, with Schoolboy Q being right there. Best rappers would look different

J. Cole and Drake, yes
K-Dot, no

I gotta put him over K.Dot as a artist. Section 88, GKMC, & TPAB were impactful as a RAPPER. Them shyts was 10 years ago. 2 outta 3 are certified classics but based on bodies of work it ain’t even close. He don’t drop enough music

March Madness, My Savages, Codeine Crazy are more impactful to the culture than anything K.Dot put out :yeshrug:

Respect, but I disagree

Same way folks see J.Cole as a snooze fest, Drake as a pop star, and K-Dot as a pseudo-intellectual

I’ve always seen Future only good for hoes to dance and t’ing up with your guys. Felt this way ever since Racks and Same Damn Time.

I can understand what you mean by him always releasing a consistent album every so often years, and never really deviating from what makes him stand out.. but I don’t see it

Y’all have a wild bias for nikkas dropping gratuitously. I’m gonna assume a lot of y’all were lil Wayne fans and came to see that as the norm, it’s not and it’s not required to be a GOAT or “top #” or whatever.

“The culture” impact is also subjective, there isn’t just one culture in the black community.

No doubt future has been highly impactful, especially to a lot of the ATL/HOU rappers to come after him. But I don’t put him ahead of Kenny as an artist, they’re peers who occupy different lanes. Drake as well, breh is fugazi as a rapper but he knows how to create a hit
