Lil Wayne apologized for his controversial lyrics on Future’s song ‘Karate Chop‘ where he rapped “beat the pu**y up like Emmett Till” but that didn’t stop Till’s family from continuing their protests against Lil Wayne. As a result, Mountain Dew went ahead and dropped Weezy from the endorsement deal earlier this month.

Future called in Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Power 106 LA and spoke on the situation. According to him, Weezy helped bring light to Till in a positive way and because of the song, most of the younger generation got to know about him and the tragedy that happened in 1955 when he was beaten to death for whistling at a white woman in Mississippi.
