Game of the Century (So Far?)

IGN Scoop had a game of the century so far discussion and I've put the top ten as the choices in the poll.



For me personally, I wouldn't choose anything in the top ten - I have only finished TW3 of them - but I'd probably put Metroid Prime 1 as my fave this gen.

Elden Ring, it's the best in class from a developer who basically created their own genre. Story ain't shyt but to me, gameplay is king. Elden Ring has that tenfold.

Four white guys chatting sorry its a no for me. Digital Foundry is as far as I'll go. But ain't a century 100 years? Da fuq is Tears of the Kingdom & Last of Us 1 doing on there. If Fortnite and GTA V aren't eligible then its nonsense.

With that said...considering the tech developments since 2000, saying gamers are "spoilt for choice" would be understating the situation. From masterpieces like RDR2 or Starcraft or Sleeping Dogs, to pivotal turning points like the Prince of Persia series to AC2 through Black Flag or the Arkham series, all the way to the "simple" side scroller games like Mark of the Ninja or the Ori games. Too many genres with too much heat.

Dark Souls 1. Look at the influence, still fun as hell. Played it again last year, still a 10/10 to me and had me hooked like crack even though I've probably beat it five times, not counting new game plus runs.
