RE4 was just a very well put together GAME. Shooting mechanics, level design, puzzle design, enemy encounters and placement, rpg and micromanaging elements, BOSS BATTLES....everything just came together very well from a design stand point. Didn't hurt that some were becoming a little tired of the franchise at that point, and here comes this new approach to a stale product.
The story and characters are wack of course but even they had this charm to em that is hard to quantify. People like em for the same reason people like something like The Princess Bride.
GCN exclusivity at the time also sort of added to its legend.
To be fair, I personally prefer RE:CV, but mainly because of those unidentifiable, intangible elements that I was talking about. Gameplay wise RE4 is one of the greatest games of all time, in my personal top 15.

-Legend of Zelda after Wind Waker, I just wasn't into it anymore, too kiddy of an RPG.

Mortal Kombat...shyt just got stale to me over the years
Uncharted Series....Beat the 1st one when it first came out and liked it a lot. Bought the 2nd one like 3 weeks ago and the shyt kept fukking crashing the PS3 after you play it for a couple hrs. Got to the level where you running on the train and that shyt kept doing it every 5-10 minutes. Exchanged the game a week later but this copy was even worse. shyt would shut off like after 2-3 minutes. Got my money back and said fukk it. 2 brand new games back to back that didn't work.

That sounds more like your system bout to die than the game outright causing the problem breh.

Was able to play other PS3 games right afterward with no problem. I should have mentioned that in the other post. The triple wasn't even warm when I had Uncharted 2 in either.

Delete the game data, not the save though. One of my boys PS3 was doing that with NBA2k12 (3 different copies) and I got it to work by doing that.
