Games that came out in the 90s (before PS/N64) were still expensive?

Aside from Game Boy, my Mom would buy my Sega games used. I was reading a comic and it had ads selling games for the same price as today! Even higher (saw a game for 70 :damn:) I was expecting like 40. I never knew that shyt. :ohhh:

Availability have something to do with it. Hell, Suikoden II cost 200 bucks on ebay before it was released on PSN :mindblown:

$50 which is $90 today
Nah. There was games for $69.99 n shyt back then. Some even 89.99. I remember clearly. Street Fighter Special Champions Edition came out to around over 80 bucks after taxes. When PS1 came out it changed the game. Games were WAY cheaper. Now they back priced similar to back in the day.

cartridges were expensive to produce. Star Fox came with a gpu in the cartridge :dead:

the real rip-off is how much they charged for cheap ass optical discs. a lot of the pricing of products has to do with what people are used to, and/or what they're willing to pay

Even worse, now they're selling digital games at the same price as the physical copies. People do pay what they're used to, indeed

me calling it a "gpu" might not be accurate, but it was a coprocessor designed to render polygons and shyt

Was just about to mention this...most of the AAA titles or games with chips to help boost performance were in the higher price range.
