Yes, which is a much better option than the DS4 you have to plug up everyday, and replace when the shifty battery goes bad.
i have 4 ds4's and none have gone bad. 4 ds3s and those haven't gone bad either. On the other hand, all 4 of my plug and play kits for the 360 don't hold any charge. But I'm sure I'm the only one on the planet with this experience

Ds4's have shytty batteries breh. shyts only last 4-6 hours.

With Xbox controllers you have the choice of what batteries to use. If the play and charge kit sucks you can buy something else. I don't have one, I don't know how good they are. I did buy some $10 enoloops and they last much longer and are much more convenient than the batteries in the DS4:manny:

I don't believe 4 hours is accurate...BUT...like I said I have 4 controllers, and I have the dual charging cradle. When one controller dies I always have at least 2 more with full charge on deck. Battery life on a controller has never been an issue for me. If some energizers last longer...cool...in the long run, if you're a gamer that 4 hours isn't enough charge time, then you do the math and those batteries will run you more than the cost of the controller itself. $60 for a dual shock that's rechargable vs $60 for an X1 controller that you have to buy batteries for, forever. I don't know what you pay for your batteries but those packs of 8 or whatever aren't 2 or 3 dollars. And if you got more than one controller? Yikes
