Thanks, breh. I'm rocking 1440p, but I just got a 4k tv that is fukking insane, so I might be playing at 4K when possible. The bottlenecking was weird in gta v. I can run other games completely fine, sometimes at 6K (3x1440p). Like I can murder witcher 3 with the highest possible settings at 1440p 60fps. But then in gta v I get 100s to 40s to 60s to 120s, it's strange. I'm playing with the highest possible settings though (I'll check out your link. Thanks). Some other games appear to be bottlenecking as well, but they were known to be unoptimized. I'm just worried about the pcie lanes. Like I'm running 8X8, when I was used to 16 x 16 with my 4820k. Everybody on other forums says a titan x won't get a pcie bottleneck at 8, but I dunno.

8X/8X vs 16x/16x you'll only see a slight difference in benchmarks. Gaming wise the difference at the most is like 3 fps, if that. Linus has a video on it here which you've probably already seen,

I'm currently having trouble trying to beat out my 4790K Firestrike Ultra (4k) graphic scores on this new build from 8x/8x to 16x/16x.

Those things usually have no issues reaching 4.8-5.0 ghz. It won't miss a beat overclocked compared to these new CPU's coming out at stock speeds. Since Intel is only competing against themselves you should be good for a while longer. Gen to gen they are only improving IPC in baby steps. At the moment it seems they are more concerned with efficiency and iGPUs than they are with killing their own shyt.

Stop paying attention to the BS that courtdog posts.

Smh don't know where that comes from but when I use to play Battlefield on the PC I had overclocked my CPU and notice a difference not huge but difference in my frames per second even in Multiplayer

Got a laptop with a bomb ass cpu, couldn't play games new games 6 months later :francis:

Graphic cards need to able to emulate to begin with. An awesome cpu with a massive program counter will fetch just fine...your games and everything else will start up damn near immediately...however without the power to emulate(render) those graphics and or buffer quickly, and concisely...the system is brought to a stand still...or in more technical terms, a stuttering-picture show.

Mind telling me what you couldn't play? I bought a 7750 AMD and was still able to run Witcher 3 on high. To be fair in this day and age, the only problems a GPU would have, is low VRAM.

They are focusing so hard on the iGPU because you and I know where the trend is going. The new market is to sell disposable hardware in a 12-24 month cycle, its clear as day that this is in the interest of Microsoft, other hardware manufacturers, and intel themselves.

They want to be able to surpass APU level of performance when it comes to gaming. If Intel can get it so that any new i5 or i7 processor can achieve at least 30FPS @ 1080P with medium/high settings on the latest and greatest games would be a great accomplishment. Can you imagine how much more appealing the Surface line from Microsoft would be if that was the case? shyt would probably fly off the shelves.

Intel is not only competing with AMD, but nvidia on the graphics side of it as well. It looks like their phone strategy has been put on hold indefinitely so the next logical step is to keep shrinking the die and start upping that performance on the graphics.

They've already surpassed APU performance. AMD isn't competition to them nor is Nvidia. ARM on the other hand is.

When has your memory utilization jumped past 50% with the 32GB installed?

Whenever I use my ram drive for encoding.
