I'm director of mental health at a leading gender clinic in the US. Our clinic is a half-decade old – and in that short period the number of families coming to us with questions about their child's gender has grown astronomically every month.

We're not alone. The BBC recently reported that the number of children aged ten and under who were referred to the NHS in the UK to help deal with transgender feelings had more than quadrupled in six years.

Some maybe...but some also really have development issues leading to this. Its brain chemistry. There's genotype sex, then there's hormonal sex. Both work in unison usually. When they don't you end up with all these other classifications. You can have a penis but grow up feeling like a woman and vice versa. This is not disputable.

In my opinion, there is the mind and there is body (including genetics). Most of us are well (more or less) synced regarding both elements. Some aren't at all. Some are born in a body that doesn't fit their mind. the mind not being able to be changed and considering we now have the scientific knowledge to "correct" the body, I see nothing wrong with transgenders.

If you understand gays then your argument. If you can be born wanting to fukk the same sex why is it such a stretch to believe people could be born feeling like the opposite sex? Sexuality is one thing ALL humans have in common, with 7 billion of us would it make sense that all of our sexuality would be the same? Every person is unique and sexuality is just a part of everyones uniqueness. Why can't we just stay out of other people's bedrooms and let people live how they want. As long as they aren't trying to fukk you it shouldn't even cross yiiur mind.
