part of me wants to say, maybe it makes sense to get your foot in the door as an owner. if you buy in your late 20s, you'll be buying a new place/refinancing by 40 anyway, so the 50 year is obviously gonna go away at some point

but on that 50 years, you get so fukked on the beginning you're literally not even building equity. it's just awful

Depends on interest rates. We refinanced twice 5 years ago and locked in a 2.75% interest. I don't see us refinancing the home at all given it's up to I think 6.5% now.
