You do realize Obama deported the shyt out of people and Democrats were never given any "credit" for it because the only reality to a lot of people is the reality that Fox News creates. Instead of deporting people like crazy and shifting rightward, Democrats need to make the case for why immigration is good for the country, because it is. The facts are on their side. They need to push to make legal immigration easier.

People don’t want unchecked immigration. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Functionally that means you can’t allow everyone to claim asylum, stay here for years while waiting to get through the backlogged courts.

And with Americans suffering, the period where the argument was merely hire more judges as a solution no longer works.

Largely, because most people saying this don’t want to reject asylum seekers at all.

Much easier to say we can control immigration without mask men running around .
