Always seemed to me the Antitrust division was a great vehicle for weaponization of the state. The investigations strike at corporations & whole sectors (controlled by the wealthy & influential); they are incredibly time consuming & expensive; they are by their nature opaque.

AT&T/Time Warner was a dry run. It's almost impossible to imagine any other GOP DOJ blocking that deal.

But what was confusing about that was it was arguably justified.

It's prudent to wait for evidence here with this automaker probe, but this appears much more dangerous.
