That shyt stayed with me after I read the book, the most brutal act of the war imo, and even though I didn't hate the Blood and Cheese scene in the show I too was thinking that they either gonna have to make some huge changes or eliminate one of the most influential events of the war

I think all of game of thrones is trash. How you have a fantasy show with Dragons and Ice people but no other fantasy elements? Where is the Sorcery? Goblins, Elves etc. Whats the point in barely dabbing a pinkie toe into the genre? Might as well get rid of the dragons, and treat it like straight historical fiction. show more comparable to HBO's Rome, than lord of the rings, and yet they have dragons flying around. Never got into because of that.

basically, i feel like minimizes the fantasy tropes to the extent that i forget i'm not watching a historical drama, and then something fantasy happens and break immersion

Game of Thrones is primarily a political book in a setting where magic has mostly gone from the world. So the magical and fantasy elements we do get are in a sort of state of decay. He modeled the kingdoms and wars from actual historic events. I love the toned down fantasy elements, gives it a much more curious and grounded feel. And makes their impact more pronounced when we do get them
