I was in Nuremburg last year, at a cafe, conversing with a man. And he thought it was a good idea that the refugees. The country is trying to better itself, and I think that with genuine efforts they feel as if they need to do this, for themselves and for history and for humanity.

And most people can fathom that, that there are a lot of good people in Germany.

I see where youre going with this but the idea of importing millions of people who have a radically different world view and are known to be resistant to changing it seems counterproductive

Its like you bringing in homeless people you dont know into your house ....great idea on paper and very humanist but quite likely to fail

they did it to Africans during slavery and it's seemed to workout fine

One huge difference...At the time they viewed it as importing livestock...they never meant for us to be free to roam the countryside and do whatever we like...I guarantee that if a ship full of free African Pilgrims was pulling into port they would have fired them cannons and sunk it or just enslaved them all.

Funny I was at the park dt/ theres an abe statue. This woman who looked homeless and maybe not there fully was talking to the statue, playing future on her phone and was like "Abe you were the first black president!", I was like woah. but yeah funny/random. I used to sit next to that statue and read during my breaks while tour guides would come thru
