Here's the thing about the rally and the coverage of it.
There are up to 4th generation German citizens of Russian descent in that city and region.
Second, both sides of the war are reporting and inflating the numbers of the rallygoers. Russians for their obvious reason, and Ukraine to alert the German govt. of a potentially subversive segment of their citizenry, and that they should act to root them out.
