From what he's described I doubt she'll win. I will say this, despite his generosity I'm sure that wasn't a marriage based on love. It was based on lust and economic convenience. I'm also sure that he's enjoyed a power imbalance for the past 10 plus years, where very often there was resentment, distrust, or anger towards him that his wife suppressed.
What is rearing its head now is the fact that there were inescapable inequalities that he and his wife knew they would only put up with for as long as her status was under his. Now that she has a college degree in a well-paid and competitive field, she doesn't NEED him anymore. He knew that could happen which was why he had her sign all of those documents. She knew it too.
He got what he paid for. He paid for a wife with some expectations that could only be temporary and wear out. The fact is, the more educated women are the less likely they are willing to put up with situations that make them unhappy. Men are the same way. We won't put up with a woman if we have the option to GO. That's all this is. He got what he paid for, he just tried to avoid it for a few years.
