11 week old Shiba Inu coming through next week

:ehh:

I've done my homework and have everything except a bed, cage, and dog food.

Any recommendations on dog food? He's been coming off of milk recently so dry dog food and fruits is what I'm leaning towards.

Dog set brehs feel free to chime in.

Be patient and be consistent. This time is extremely formative for your dog's behavior going forward.

Just like raising a child, I have no problem with that. Going with the clicker method to start.

One thing I've been worried about is trying to socialize him with other dogs during this time. Fortunately I have a few friends that have their own dogs that I can keep him around until he's comfortable

A shiba inu is not a good choice for your first dog

Fair. It's the only dog I'll keep around me other than a pig and I had one before, although it's been a minute.

Gotta show who's in charge and train them right. How hard can it be? Famous last words and all that.

Like some have said you HAVE to be PATIENT. There were days where I was like "what the fukk did I get myself into" but 2 years later things are chill and we're still learning everday.

Also if you like having a clean house be prepared to have to deal with lots of cleaning and brushing if your dog shed a lot of hair. I have a GSD and had to invest in lint rollers and just deal with the fact that I will have to clean a lot more.

As long as they're sociable and don't have bad habits. I've seen pups learn to piss over an adult dog's mess in the house and then do the same going forward after only an hour or two.

Definitely not a habit you want to have to break. :francis:

Get ready for it to shyt and piss everywhere if not taken outside every 4 hours.

Dont leave your nice pair of gators or jordans laying out. That little shythead will eat them.

Be ready for it to eat its own excrement and then attempt to mouth kiss you. Afterwards it will hump your leg in front of everyone in an attempt to rape you into submission.

And you might wanna keep a few stacks saved uo for the inevitable lawsuits, when it mauls a poir innocent child to death...
