Man..that still gives me the chills...i hope it wins some kind of award

Anyways as we all know boxing is the theater of the unexpected. You never know what will happen in this crazy sport. I mean on May 5th I was planning on spending the majority of my day in Foxboro, Mass, home of the 2nd place winners the New England Patriots. Catch my 3rd or 4th viewing of Avengers: Infinity War at Patriot Place Theater, then to Red Robin for some food and drinks while I watch Haye-Bellew 2 on my phone, then back into the theater for 3+ hours of boxing culminating with GGG righting the wrong against Canelo and becoming the lineal champ in his division. Unfortunately that will not happen because back in February Canelo turned into his now familiar and aptly named moniker "Clenelo" by testing positive for Clenbuterol. After weeks and weeks of back and forth this is what we have come to.
I have nothing against Vanes Martirosyan as a fighter. He is a solid fighter and hard night out for any fighter to beat. An admirable boxing 36-3-1 record with 21 ko's. However he is not the man to face the man known as the Triple Gawd of boxing at this time. He has been inactive for 2 years which his last loss was in a fight with a tentative Erislandy Lara. He has also not won a fight since September, 2015 when he beat up Ishe Smith on his way to a MD win on the freeview for Floyd-Berto. More importantly Vanes is a career 154 lber. Had he actually been more active as in at least a couple fights in 2017, preferably at MW, I might have gone
. But condoning this fight would make me no better than the individuals that told me Danny Garcia fighting Robert Guerrero (who needed a gift to beat a jobber in his previous fight) for a vacant welterweight tile was a good fight to air as a FOX main event. Or even worse individuals condoning HBO airing Andre Ward vs Alexander Brand on its network because they like to see Ward box
i.e not a good reason.
Gennady "GGG" Golovkin will be going for his record tying 20th Middleweight title defense against Vanes Martirosyan. I pay for HBO so of course I will dutifully watch on my lounger with a beer in my hand and my laptop and phone on my coffee table. Stubhub Center has now been established as the stomping grounds for cats to be the gladiators that they are. No footwatching or backfoot boxing(
@LauderdaleBoss ), just nikkas hitting each other as hard and as frequent as they can to prove they are better. Most recently last month Weight bully Scott Quigg and this generation's "Get Hit-Man" Oscar Valdez engaged in a savage war in a fight of the year candidate on ESPN that had all that watched like
.
Will the same magic reappear once again for this fight? For the GGG detractors, the magic will be Vanes Martirosyan upsetting GGG to become WBC/WBA Middleweight champion (IBF will not sanction). For GGG fans the magic will be GGG retaining his belts for the 20th time, going to 38-0-1 with a possible 34 ko's and while going
at said GGG detractors. Hopefully at least some semblance of an undercard will be available. I've heard Chocolatito's name being thrown around which I have no problem with . When those 2 are on the same card, things get lit and stars sometime get born (shoutout to 115 kingpin King Sor
). In closing, yes its not a good fight on paper but ppl will still be in this thread asking for links and shyt come 5/5 and that is facts.
