All they are doing is setting themselves up for lawsuits by giving this to soldiers.

One software bug or operating system malfunction and I could easily see regular civilians being massacred by a soldier getting faulty data from their ai visor .

This is wild. Wait until soldiers get aim assist and an exoskeleton to double jump like videogames.

“Aim assist” was developed while I was still in and has been around for some years now. It’s even been fielded and tested a few times for regular units. The exoskeleton was also developed, but I don’t know if it was ever deemed feasible enough to actually field.

I always wonder with so many new developments why does it only seemed reserved for small elite of elite units and not the general mainstream forces.

You hear stories of some tech that used by elite of elite small teams or some extremely rich man's security team who was a former special op. Crazy

Special operations has a completely separate budget for team/mission specific stuff. They’re like 1% of the Army not counting group, team, and regiment support.

They can easily purchase, field, maintain, and track obscure mission specific stuff. They’re rest of the Army is huge and regularly breaks things, like it’s nothing, just generally doing what they’re supposed to do.

It’s one thing to buy $50,000 GPNVG 18’s for a bunch of SF-A teams, it’s definitely some bullshyt trying to field $50,000 night vision to 450,000+ joes who are going to hit each other with the night vision sets out of boredom lol. They would lock whole brigades down, for weeks to months, if a $3000 set of pvs’ was even THOUGHT to be missing lol. Command would probably have us waterboarded, one by one, over some GP 18’s lol.

The Army is back to fielding stuff like they did pre-9/11. The newest cool shyt goes to specific 18th Airborne Corps (101st abn, 82nd abn, 3rd ID, 10th Mtn) infantry battalions that are designated to be the first to deploy, and be the leading edge of some shyt popped off. The new XM157’s, new rifles, and new light machine guns have been fielded to a few infantry battalions and will be slowly expanded to their parent brigades in the future. 75th is probably fielding to the whole regiment, as well as all the SF groups.
