I went to see Akua Naru in concert a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by her performance. I had to find out more so I invited her to Brownswood the next day for a chat. I was fascinated to learn out about her history, growing up in the States, but living in China and, more recently, Cologne. She was super eloquent on the subject of hip hop and music in general, and her responses to our current global political, racial and social situation were really on point.
