Ginuwine is truly a walking meme at this point. He's signaling 3 o'clock with his hands when he's supposed to be signaling 9 o'clock

same ole g, so anxious, pony like you said, and if i thought about it i'm sure there's more.

not only that, but for some years there he had all the women choosin.

i really hope he's still up there because he just loves performing and gets paid good.
nikkas could like performing and need the bread too. If homie´s up there dialing it in and looking like the President of Larry Holmes gardens then that´s worse than doing shows.

Beyonce Does Stadiums and she´s been a stadium artist for 20 years.

Jigga man loves performing but when his stadium tour didn´t do so well he soft retired. I mean if he made the coli that´s not a good look.

Tank another DC cat does shows for the ladies and the gays and since he´s a balladeer he can be in larry holmes gardens and make a bag as long as his voice holds up.

bytches fake cancelled Brian McKnight but how meny nikkas is singing 2 hours of simp ass love songs to aunties nowadays?

Homie does a chitlin circut tour and the aunties will be right there front row.

MOST OF HIS KIDS ARE GROWN....

SOLE HAS BEEN REMARRIED FOR 8 YEARS
SO WHAT ALIMONY?

Think on this. He paid alimony mad child support when he was in his prime earning years. Factor in other expenses such as agent, lawyer, accountant, taxes, house car etc. He more than likely was in mad debt.

So even though the kids are grown he still living check to check

BEYONCE AND SWIFT ARE BILLIONAIRES
YET THEY STILL PERFORM

MJ WAS ABOUT TO TOUR
BEFORE HE DIED.

PRINCE DIED A DAY OR 2
AFTER A SHOW

HAVING MONEY DOESNT MEAN
MUSICIANS DONT WANT TO PERFORM

Nah there’s a difference.

Beyonce and Taylor Swift are still relatively young. It makes sense to keep performing at the highest level while your body still allows you to and cash out as much as possible. So they can retire and not tour out of necessity.

MJ was in heavy debt when he was about to tour. This has been documented heavily. He wasn’t doing 50… FIFTY SHOWS, out of love for performing. He was saddled with financial liabilities.

He hadn’t toured in over a decade and he had no new album to promote. And once he ‘died’, his stake in Sony publishing got sold.

Prince again, was also in debt. Paisley Park still had a lot of upkeep to maintain. He was also taking painkillers to deal with his hip problems. I Have no doubt he loved performing live still but at his age and to that extent he toured, it was clearly to keep his head above water.

Like someone said, these icons at this point should be performing for fun, not to still earn a living. It’s sad to see.

Because they sold millions of records which brought in millions of Dollars. It's just unfortunate that most of them make 11 cents per album sold and 2 dollars per ticket sale.

The suits upstairs who own the records are golfing on a random tuesday and counting billions in stocks, even though they never set foot in the studio or on stage.
Everyone isn't built for retirement though. Just cuz you made enough money doesn't mean you just automatically have to quit. A typical NBA player should be retiring after their first contract by your logic.

The suit in your hypothetical was never a performance artist so they never WANTED to be in a studio or on a stage, idk where you thought you were going with that one :skip: Ginuwine may genuinely enjoy performing and all of the fukkery around it.

Y'all see someone old and working and immediately start pocket watching as if tons of studies haven't suggested that retiring early can lead to health decline and tons of other mental issues due to lack of purpose.

You are speaking from the POV of someone who was only doing their job for the money, everyone isn't in that situation. If you truly enjoy what you do for work you're gonna keep doing it until the industry itself stops you.

Imagine being a millionaire and you already did everything you ever wanted to do :francis: you still gotta wake up and be productive or shyts gonna start going bad for you

most musicians are cash poor which is slightly different than being "broke broke"

maybe dude nets 25000 a show lives in 8 million dollar house and drives a 150,000 car bills come in everyday show checks happen once in while unless he's super careful with money and made smart investments he'd be live anNFL 40 million dollar slave that goes broke 5 years out of the league

where was this filmed? I don't keep up with R&B package tours and old nikka festivals

but the optics matter if he did the Slave theater ( a real place) he might not want to do that.

I remember Kelly Rowland did a show in DC at the Lincoln theater ( a far cry from her destiny's child days) and although she was the headliner the Backyard Band closed the show.

that's common in DC or it was the go go band closes the show because they will upstage a national artist in DC if you don't want a go go band to close you gotta perform with them.

that's the way it is and lord knows Ginuwine knows that.

Kelly was upset and let the crowd know it
