I suppose it depends on the context. I've never seen this phenomenon of being accused of "talking white" directed at educated/smart black kids (I took honor courses and it never happened to me). But I have seen it directed at black folks who go out of their way to sound like valley girls and skater bois.

I can't cosign this. If asian people talk in the same tone, no black people ask why they talk that way. But let a black person talk a certain why its called white.

Most of the time that I ever hear someone accused of talking white I get confused because it never dawned on me that they spoke white until a hater came out to accuse them of it.
