Not sure how y'all feel about this. But it's a lot of people on LinkedIn and possibly other platforms who don't believe in giving referrals if they don't know you. To me I get it but I don't operate that way. I may not know any of y'all but if I see your resume and Linkedin profile and it looks impressive I would give you a referral cuz I know what it's like to need a higher paying job or you could be struggling. The last thing I want to do is be a gatekeeper you know to me we should be door openers. To me this is why a lot of us can't get ahead. You got people giving referrals to their frat brother or sorority sister and again if you're qualified I don't have a problem with it but it's other people out here who are qualified and to me if I have the credentials it shouldn't matter if you know me on a personal level or not

I learned a long time ago the hard way the submission of an application, interview process, and resume are generally just a formality.

Businesses and supervisors usually already know who they want for those jobs especially stuff in upper level management or anything administrative.

If it’s some lower level job then yeah they may evaluate the pool of applicants more but most of the time for jobs worthwhile up the food chain usually that person has already been picked long before an interview or LinkedIn is looked at.
