Section 80 was meh after first few listens

GKMC as a whole still:dj2:

And no song in 2012 is seeing the greatness of Sing About me/Dying of Thirst :wow:

Production and cohesiveness of GKMC blows Section 80 out the water:ohhh:

Yeah i think GKMC trumps Section.80 in almost every way, but thats not an indictment against S.80...just a testament to how great the album was.

I really love some of the statements he makes about society (fukk Your Ethnicity, Ronald Reagan Era, and Ab-Soul's Outro) and the way he describes life from his AND her perspective (Poe Man's Dreams, Keisha's Song) There's a lot of things to relate to on an emotional level.

On GKMC i love the attention to detail. Like, he really painted vivid pictures in my head about a life and a place that i know very little about. If you give it your undivided attention, you almost feel like you're in the van with him. Production was incredible. Skits weren't used as comical relief or filler, they were the glue that held the whole narrative together.

As a whole, GKMC is just so much more cohesive, and has more replay value to me.

I like S80 (a personal favourite) more but objectively GKMC is his best and a true classic. Don't diss S.80 though that shyt's at least an 8.5/10.

Idk i feel like ppl overrating Section 80 :ld:

Its a good album but I feel like there a number of fillers(after the few initial listens)
Them being

Spiteful Chant
ADHD
No Make up

GKMC imo is near flawless except Compton and good kid :scusthov:

And I feel Kdot told a story better and more vividly with GKMC than he did S80.

S.80 has the more powerful songs sans Sing About Me/Dying of Thirst but overall GKMC is a large improvement.

I like GKMC better than Section 80 too, although that's not to take anything away from the latter. Actually, I listen to the Kendrick Lemar EP, and Overly Dedicated more than Section 80. The Recipe was the first track I ever heard from him, and then I heard the Rigamortis track which made me check out Section 80 which didn't blow me away but I digged it. But when I checked out Overly Dedicated and the KL-EP :whew: At the rate he's going, he's gonna end up being one of the great ones.
