I would have guessed Nigeria would have a much higher percentage.

People will talk about sustainability and all types of shyt all day but there are millions of Africans without electricity. DRC has literally all the Cobalt for electric cars......So what I see happening is China is already in Africa going after natural resources and will try to gobble up as much as possible and in return give these countries some basic infrastructure for power to pacify them, but probably fund the Grand Inga dam project then lease the power to the rest of Africa and double dip. Meanwhile the US will push for electric vehicles HARD and gas powered stuff will be shipped over to Africa as hand me downs like how they do Global Aid when they drop off clothing to random African countries...After that people will then complain that Africa is causing pollution because of all the cars and mining going on to supply the rest of the world with "Clean" energy:sas2:

They need to work harder and pull themselves up by the bootstraps like they tell us when they come over here

not really there will be a solar revolution in Africa in a similar fashion to how mobile phones changed African society by bridging the gap where infastructure was lacking. banking, telecom etc.

only reason it is taking so long is that solar tech is expensive to manufacture. once the cost to scale is more reasonable you will see growth that nobody saw coming. it's already began on the low and is being fuelled by citizen innovators. As usual Africa will be saved by the ingenuity of the people not the leaders.
