This isn’t remotely serious enough not to propose.
Look at some of you, not seeing the problem for what it is. He asked her to do something simple that she could have easily acquiesed on. Instead, she choose to defiantly refuse his request and angerly wear something completely opposite. Do you guys think her antics are going to stop after they got married? Do you think her telling him not to tell her what to do will end after they leave the altar?
She exposed her true character and feelings towards him. She does not respect him one bit, because if she did she would have at least asked him why he desired her to wear the nice dress. No, she immediately went into anger mode, reacting angrily to a request for her to do something. Some of you need to learn how to see red flags upfront and avoid them, because her actions were definitely massive red flags on how their marriage will be.

That is a waste of time. I am pretty sure this is not the only time she has reacted this way either. So him trying to prove her wrong is really just him falling for the sunk cost fallacy with her (i.e. He put so much time and effort into his relationship with her, that he should continue instead of ending it).
Her reaction to his request of, "Don't tell me what to do." and then following through with doing completely opposite of the request is an indicator of how she will be after they are married. She will be defiant all throughout their marriage, from small requests to large. Let's not twist it either, his request she wears a dress was a very small request that should have at least elicited from her a question of why he desires that, instead of an outright defiance of her not doing it.
This, that attitude is a red flag. He's in for a lifetime of hardheaded battles
