So I have these two friends that I happen to work with. They have been together 2 years and have an 8 month old daughter together. There is quite an age difference (she's 22 and he's 31) but despite this they seem to have a pretty good relationship.

About a week ago she was venting to me about being a new mom and being in such a serious relationship at such a young age. She was saying how she isn't sure that she's REALLY ready to be someone's wife and that she has thoughts of her ex and wishes things were different. She loves him just isn't sure if she's ready for THAT life. She also referenced his attitude and anger issues and how she is reconsidering the relationship.

Fast forward to today.... He hits me up on our instant message system at work and at first we are having general friendly conversation then he drops the bomb.

He asked what I thought and told me he will be proposing on Christmas and asked me to be there. He said that he's so in love with her and feels like after the year that they've had and the birth of their daughter that he's ready to make her his wife.



Now I'm stuck in the middle. I want to tell him to reconsider but I don't know if it's my place.

This is about to get veeeerrry uncomfortable.

As for you, you just gotta stay out it or hopefully she will give you any opportunity to talk her about it. I wouldn't bring it up on my own or tell her he's about to give her a ring, but would tell her to be honest about her feelings before she hurts him worst than she can imagine.
