"Eminem" is a corporate entity, it is what it is. Marshall doesn't even own the name or the rights to anything Eminem related. If they feel like they need features from XYZ to keep their golden goose laying eggs that's what it's gon be.
His job is to do what the label asks of him (be a huge pop star since there's a market for it) while simultaneously rapping up a storm so that people don't forget that he's an actual MC.
That's clearly a conflict of interest.

You pretty much described almost every acting in the golden age of rap. No one owned their own songs, they jumped on any track that was trending, and all were corporate entities...who cares really? If people are this butthurt over Em working with pop acts, they're either misinformed or riding the wave....followers gon follow.

People are 'buthurt' because they can't reconcile the Eminem they fukked with at some point being whored out to the same crowd he used to shyt on.
People think he was just dissing them to be funny but he understood that he was being marketed along with the Britney Spears and NSYNC's and he wanted to create separation. Like I'm not that...you can find me in the same section because I'm white and marketable, but I'm an MC.
Other rappers doing what they gotta to fulfill record label obligations is something that happens but it's a different level when you are that much of a pop icon and people are banking on your success. Him being so critical of pop acts (for a valid reason IMO) looks funny now that he has like 4 songs with Pink. Nobody is looking at the label politics or how they are trying to jerk these artists off on each other like credit card scams, they just wondering why Eminem can't just put out an EP with Pete Rock whenever he feels like it

Eminem is truthfully an underground MC that got to live above ground because of white privilege. He's "pop" because he's white and they need him to sell records, not because he makes good pop music.

Having one sentence about a pop act in an entire album about everything else, is not "going out your way". Relax. I get he's a legend but you stans need to settle down a notch. He never said he hated R&B or Pop (he worked with Dido). He called out particular acts. But he's not collabing with boy bands so you can take solace in that. Pink, Sheeran, and Skylar are all solo acts who have worked with numerous rappers on more than on occasion. Lets stop cherry picking and do our history.
