:comeon: I can tell most of yall are cacs or are from the suburbs.
See, when I was younger this would've had me hot but you know what, I'm past the "back on my block" days immaturity.

Yeah, I was raised in the suburbs of Bloomfield CT.

My grandmother's house though, where i spent a bunch of my younger years?

Edgewood street in Hartford. If you know, you know.

Staying the night over there, you'd hear shots going off all night.

There's nothing commendable about being raised around gun violence. Doesn't toughen you up, doesn’t smarten you up neither, else candle setups wouldn't be a common accompaniment to them.

It's just trauma and stress and constant agitation.

All my nikkas who were raised in the gutter, would've traded places with me in a second.

You too old to be this small breh.

South Philly is the one part of Philly I don't feel safe

I move comfortably in every other part of the city...but nikkas from SP know when you're not from there

They talk a certain way, walk a certain way, dress a certain way

And it's hood politics that have been going on for decades that I just don't care to understand

yet 50% of murderers and murder victims are black men.
same for violent crime stats

to ignore that is ignoring the reality of the situation
Right, that's 50% of murderers.

You take it to mean that 50% of black people are murderers or something.

If there are two murderers and one of them is black, that's 50%.

So, dude's point still stands.

his point doesnt stand.

its downplaying the level of violence we experience.
its downplaying the culture were numb to.
its downplaying the lifestyle we think is normal.
its downplaying the number of brothas in the system.
its downplaying our underachievement in all things non entertainment.

Because they putting blame on these kids when its systemic racism that put them in this situation in the first place. When white supremacy takes away all choices, this is the result, violence.
My Aunt is a teacher in North Philly.

Anytime you bring up "white supremacy" as to why things are the way they are in her neighborhood, she'll tell you nah it's the parents and choices they make.

Kids showing up with weapons, drugs, smelling like weed, getting cussed out by parents, kids with bruises because they're clearly being abused at home.

And the school she's at only goes up to 5th grade.

I just think it's interesting that somebody actually from there ain't looking at white supremacy to point the finger at.
