Fatal Shark Attacks in Australia
They've had 21 fatal attacks this decade
Yes I understand in certain statistical contexts that seem extremely infrequent- but IMO its really misleading to act like it almost never happens the way some ppl tell it
Also the whole "Mistaken Identity" thing has been essentially debunked so don't let anyone sell you on that bullshyt
Sharks are highly attuned to their environment they can definitely tell whats a seal and what's not. Yeah they're not actively hunting people but many of these bites are territorial and intentionally aggressive
... But also on occasion they absolutely do eat people. Look at the descriptions for many of the White Shark attacks- there's no body to recover
That Simon Nellist video was one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen
And when Steven Payne got got a few months ago, a drone allegedly caught it on video and it may be even worse
