The way sam cooke was singing in the 50s :mindblown:

His voice control and riffs were way before their time.

Sam Cooke = G.O.A.T.

Man, they all bring something different to the table and it seems like you've picked a lot of names that show the diversity of "soul" music. All that being said I chose Sam Cooke. That's my lecherous soul singer. :to:

Well "soul" music is such a diverse umbrella you gotta break it up.

If you talking about crooners i would say Sam Cooke.
Stylist: Marvin Gaye
Funk: Sugafoot from Ohio Players
Raw Soul: James Brown

It's hard to say, but in my opinion the greatest soul singer it's either Marvin, Teddy, Jackie Wilson, Luther, Sam Cooke and I tell folks all the time K-Ci...still plenty of singers but straight off the top, these are the one...hell Peabo Bryson

This is extremely tough, all of these guys are greats

I would go Stevie Wonder,
James Brown
then Al Green (who I actually think is a little underrated)
