Summerslam 97 with Taker vs Bret and HBK as the special guest Ref...cuz that shyt set up shyt for the next 6 months...and impacted the storylines for a good year or more.
Ground Zero with HBK vs Taker...
then Bret vs Taker at One Night Only...
HBK vs Taker at Badd Blood in a HIAC match, which sparked Kane vs Taker...
then HBK vs Bret at Survivor Series (Montreal Screwjob), which helped spark the Mr Mcmahon character which led to the Austin vs Mcmahon fued...
HBK vs Taker at Royal Rumble in the casket match...
Set up Wrestlemania XIV perfectly.
Summerslam 98 was great too...the Highway to Hell...leading to the Road to Wrestlemania. Great Build...huge high profile main event...the 4 biggest stars in the world...Rocky and HHH...then Austin vs Taker.
They've had some great ones since then...but I think those 2, when wrestling was at its biggest, really solidified Summerslam as the #2 PPV. Summerslam 02 had a ridiculous card btw.
