I was listening to The Floaters - "Float On" a little while ago and the comments just gave me so many different feels. Time sucks. :wow:

Comments like these just send me down so many different paths. Just wondering what kinda big cuz was Larry. What kinda father Paul was to have. What it was like to be related to these ppl, having them casually jigging it up at family cookouts.

Man idk. I think, I THINK I just have this "thing" for reflecting on other(older?) people's lives/experiences from the past. Because I get this same nostalgic wonder just from looking at graffiti that you can tell has been up for decades. I'll wonder for quite a few mins where that person is now. Was it just one person, or a group of cats. Another example of these "reminiscent trips" I get on was back when I was in college- I was doing a summer work program for students where we worked for the Residential Life Dept. during the Summer Sessions. We basically cleaned and painted the dorms and got them ready for the next semester. Fun sh*t and good money for just being a college kid.

Well, often times when we were repainting dorms I'd get to a spot on a wall, in some deep recess of a corner in a room, and see a little scribble like "c/o '87 wrecking crew!" or "James <3 Tanya forever" with a date attached to it from the 70's or something... sh*t like that sends me reeling. I'd sit there for soo long just wondering about James and Tanya, what happened to them, what year where they in when they met(freshmen? seniors?), who all was part of "the wrecking crew", etc. And I always find myself wishing that I could find those people today, right now, and bring them right there to that spot and show them hey your tag is still up!, and I want to watch them as they get taken back to that time and I want to hear their story behind it. The whole time fighting with myself about painting over it and erasing their words forever. Not sure why this is a thread tbh but if anybody has a quirky fascination for wandering down other peoples' memory lanes then this thread is for you? To do what with, idk.

Its wild how digital footprints will document slivers of the human experience long after the Soul jets from this realm.

Everyone strives to leave their mark but in the end most peoples lives are just like tears in the rain.
