Too bad the majority of his matches were a pile of horse crap................
the majority of his matches were squash matches.

and even still watching goldberg pulverize dudes into oblivion more often than not produced the loudest reactions on the entire show.

yea he wasn't capable of having long matches but shaq couldn't shoot 3 pointers either. what he did, he did well. fact is you have never seen someone with more powerful looking offense than goldberg. and it was that tenacity and intensity in the ring that drove fans crazy.

Goldberg WCW matches were not bad matches, it's crazy how history gets rewritten over time.

If dude was a "terrible" wrestler.... He would've never got over no matter how heavily pushed or dope entrance.

He was hype, violent, explosive, singlehandedly started the era of "THE SPEAR" a move there is damn near the most imitated moved in every fed ever, and the Jackhammer was an ill ass finisher that legit appeared like it fukks cats up.

I think too many young cats are tainted by his time in the E and how Vince had him booked/portrayed

Again, not saying he was a top worker like Dean, Eddie, Pyschosis, and etc during that time but he wasn't the worst by any stretch

It was so simple too slow epic entrance

Matches filled with big power moves and never lasting 5 mins

Never talking and just looking legit

Biggest problem was giving him the world title to fast they should of had him take down every member of the nwo first than build to a ppv match with hogan

But they got shook cuz vince was climbing in the ratings and gave that match away for free with no build up

I'm not even sure that was a problem though..... During that time dude just became white hot!

Remember it got to a point where dude was mid card as the U.S. champ and was not only the biggest star in the company bigger than Sting & DDP (the top faces at the time) and arguably the NWO but also Austin!!

His merch was selling like crazy and he was getting some of the loudest pops when ever he came to the ring!

I think they kinda had to give the fans what they wanted

Another thing that worked in Goldbergs favor back then than vs someone like say that Baren Corbin cat is the fact that everyone who Bill worked with were more seasoned than say who a lot of current talent work with.

I was recently listening to one of Y2J's podcast and I forgot who said it but they called it right on the knob, back then the so called "enhancement" talent a lot of times were seasoned veterens who knew how to make someone look great and credible while a lot of today's guys are all on the same level and work under the same system and no one is teaching no one nothing they just basically getting in the run and going through the motions of what they learned together a week ago or so.

Even when Bill was raw, he was matched with vets..... But at his worse he still was never terrible as his work always looked stiff (in a positive way) and impactful and powerful and he did sell properly when he was supposed to.

Also, he gave everyone what they wanted.... A big match full and something that felt different than anything else on the show. His matches became "attractions" and "events"

The Last of the Outlaws
Goldberg had a few sleepers in his WCW career. .. him Raven, Booker, Saturn, Steiner, Wolfpac Sting etc.

booking failed him badly because he was developing nicely in ring before losing the streak/ the finger poke and all that shyt

him vs DDP from Havoc 98 would look good on ANYONE's resume.

That entrance is still pretty incredible. Felt like a prize fight every time. Ahead of its time for wrestling
