Done with Reason, their new update is trash, so I DLed the Live 11 demo. Any good tutorials anyone can suggest to get me started? All sample based Hip-Hop.I can probably figure it out myself, but I will retain interest if I can at least throw together a skeleton easily.

Any advantage of whatever sampler is in the DAW, or should I just stick to Serato Sample?

Have you seen this Serato Studio video by DiBiase?

I'll check this out. I'm fairly comfortable with it, but I might learn something. Trying to learn the workflow of Ableton. Looks a bit foreign to someone who has only used Reason.

EDIT: This is Studio, not Sample. I may still check it out. Figured Ableton is the move, but I might like it.

Check out Lightfoot beats ableton videos

Thanks. Will watch.

Lightfoot beats uses the arrangement view in Ableton. Let me look for this other video with someone using it from the session view.

I just got on Reason 12 via Reason +. I like it way more than Ableton. Anyways.

Found him to be one of the more straight to the point. If you don’t mind his voice his other ones are good too. Best way to learn a DAW is watch several different beginner tutorials on YouTube because they will overlap shyt and even cover a bit the others didn’t. Good luck breh

Reason has good tools, but since they changed ownership, all they do is add rack stuff and new devices. The sequencer and workflow hasn't been updated to standard in 5 to 10 years. The new sampler is bootleg Serato Sample, without all of the features. The sound engine hasn't been touched, either. In dance/EDM circles, they say they can tell of you used it, and will tell you to use something else. I think the saying is "Reason is treason".

I never used reason prior so I can’t share the same sentiment. Idgaf bout those x popping mfs :mjlol:. I literally use different DAWs for different purposes. FL piano roll>>>. Studio One for mixing when I make something serious. Reason for sound design, sketching ideas and the UI is nice. I’ll get back to my baby Ableton one day because I’m not gonna trnt all that extra piff it comes with. Sounds like a headache. I love the Spirit Percussion Kit or whatever that shyt is called. Serato Sampler does shyt on Mimic but I’m familiar with counting semitones and shyt.

Reason just sucks. All the new features and racks they are adding is stuff other daws had 12+ years ago.

The "new" Mimic Sampler is like FLStudio's SliceX I was using back in '06 and it still has less features. Reason+ is basically Reason Refills in a subscription format. The synths and the effects are trash. They have like 5 drum rack that basically have the same features. Workflow is garbage. I could go on.

The only thing I like is you can route audio anyway you like, so I don't see the point of going past Reason 10. I'll never fall for anymore Reason money traps.

I was tempted to upgrade past 10 to use it as a VST, but I'm not giving them another 130 when I can put that to a full featured DAW.

There's no 'reason' to upgrade to Reason. I can bounce audio out of Reason and load it on any DAW I want and be done.

I don't even want to use Recycle anymore because I can chop and time-stretch 10x faster in Ableton. The fukk I need to give them anymore money for? They can get the fukk outta here with that.

The only thing I like about Reason is you can stack effects on top of each other anyway you like. If I could just take that one part I'd consider paying, but if I gotta take the whole Reason package, naw forget it. We had rewire and you took that, so naw I'm not gonna let them sucker me into their system of mediocre product.

Software like Live, Maschine and Studio One have integrated controllers. I'd rather be invested over their.
