I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. But I need a career instead of these temp jobs. I do have a record wih violent crimes and no school qualifications.

What about landscaping like gardening or working outdoors? Like a tree surgeon or something? Maybe I want to do something like that. I tried bricklaying and plastering but they weren't for me.

Am I allowed back in school with a record? Like a community college?

A record may prevent you from getting some grants and student loans. Some community colleges will allow you to take an aptitude test to gauge what career path best suits you. I would try that first. And then research what's the likelihood of you being able to land a job in that field with a record. I say that because I work in mental health and you can't have certain things on your record. If you are arrested for certain things your name is put on this national registry that will prevent you from being employed. Regardless of how much education you have if you are put on that registry it's a wrap. Also, see if you can get some things expunged from your record. Some cities have free expungement fairs/seminars. Good luck!

You can go to community college but you can't receive Pell grants or federal loans.

Construction, retail, truck driver, mechanic e.t.c shyt even a lot office jobs don't require background checks anymore unless it is within a regulated field. The biggest set back will probably be your lack of work experience.

Definitely a trade. Depending on what part of the country you live in and how much debt you have you can do well with some adjustments.

I would not focus on a degree just yet, just make sure you get your bank account situation under control before taking on school which gets very expensive.

If you want to learn a skill, look for something like the A+ exams to get you started. Much cheaper than a full time semester in college and gets you a solid foundation into an entry level IT position.
