I swear, Google just changes shyt for no reason at all.

Been using the Google Hangouts extension on chrome for years now. Get all my texts forwarded to it, it was real convenient. Just getting the chat window highlighted and responding if I choose to. You could just click on the extension in the browser and pull up your contacts in a sub window...

Now for some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to have the entire app be a separate pop out window. So you have to have the window open or keep switching to it to respond to messages.

:what:

Makes absolutely no sense.

I just disabled and uninstalled this trash. Will just use gmail from now on.

I just use the site, I don't bother with the app.

You can forward texts to hangouts?

And you can still pop out the sub-window from the main window, but yeah, I do think that idea was ultimately stupid.

I hear that they're about to remove the backspace button function of Prev Page in Chrome as well. Another stupid decision.

It might be a Sprint thing. Not sure if any other carriers have that option.

Well that's what Hangouts is. It's just never been marketed like iMessage. I think it comes bundled but most people don't know what it is
It's fine on cellphones, but it's much less convenient now on PC

I didn't know anyone used hangouts
Once they merged it with Google Voice/GChat, I just kept moving along with it. Like I said, it's dope being able to answer and get your texts on your PC. But I'm not rocking with this new update at all.

I've used Hangouts the past few years for podcasts and video chat w/non-iPhone people. I didn't find the change too inconvenient.

But for recording i plan to switch to skype and purchase credits/skype recorder

I can see it being fine for video, because it's an open window. But I only use it for text/chatting so it's annoying
