Believe Macs can't get viruses brehs
They normally don't unless you do some extremely dumb shyt like this

I was on the same site as him and saw the same "download flash" shyt he did... and I just closed the webpage and went to youtube live streams like smart Mac users.

Regular computers get viruses just by being on those sites:mjgrin:

Anyway op, sounds like your homepage got hijacked... Malwarebytes, Avast for Mac, and HijackThis (I think they got it for Mac) should all work....

If the browsers won't allow you to download those programs you might need to install another type of browser via USB or use Mac equivalent to safe mode to install the antivirus programs

I'll just add onto this thread. My Macbook keeps shutting down on its own. Nothing comes up in diagnostics and they couldn't find anything wrong at the Apple Store either.

I uninstall Sophos because sometimes that can be the cause. It worked fine for a few days and now I'm back to the same shyt. Anyone ever experience this?

If you don't have Time Machine, definitely format and reinstall the OS. Then get anti-virus afterwards. I highly recommend Norton Security for both Windows and Mac.

Was there any reason you found out for a cause?

Does it have security logs to show you whats shutting it down?

Idk I havent had to fix a Mac in years...

And why do people keep saying they CAN'T get viruses... We said they DON'T and normally this wouldn't even be an issue if dude wasn't installing DUMB shyt from a bogus website

Nothing shows up as a reason why it's shutting down. Not even an error message when I turn it back on.

Nah, it's not even close to hot.

The best way to describe it is it looks like it's shutting off due to low battery. The life of the battery is still in really good shape.

It primarily happens when I get on the web, but there aren't any viruses, trojans, etc. on my computer.

What year is it???

It sounds familiar. I had a problem with my old macbook but I forgot what it was abd exactly what I did to fix it because it was so long ago.

If it was Windows I would say its probably a driver or new software. Maybe go back to an old starting point after you backup data?

I think its what happened to my old macbook but it was so long ago and basically something that happened with those older macbooks models after a certain age. I had to rewrite some shyt that I honestly dont remember

next time you see a file with the extension ".exe" and aren't sure if its safe use an online file checker to see if they're viruses or malware
