Got any tips for someone that is starting a new job soon?

I've been in the real world for the past 3 years and I'm good.

Man, people complain about racism all day. When they see the steps it takes to fight it they're on some "nah" type sh!t.

Okay, whatever. I'm just telling dude to be proactive before he starts making threads about how he feels like he's getting railroaded on the job or the one about how he lashed out at one of his coworkers.

Kinda hard to get paper if you're not networking. Those quiet guys that don't have any friends are the easiest to let go once something pops off.

Either way, at the end of the day... document, document, document. You're really fvcking yourself over if you don't, especially as a Black man.

Soak up as much game as possible. don't wanna be the company dumass. agree with everyone that says come on time. Lord knows my ass has issues with that. but on a few minutes sometimes, not no half hour. try and learn something new everyday to increase your worth and promotion potential.

Don't seek promotions. If they want to promote you, they will. Aggressively gunning for promotions is a good way to call negative attention to yourself. It will also cause you to burn out quicker. Eventually you'll resent your current position in hoping for the next one. Focus instead on career upward mobility. Your NEXT job should represent the growth that you've done in the last job.

Remember: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!

If you work on a mac, option and click desktop, or set up expose to hide ya innanet quick when people walk by. On sites like coli, pick the skin that most closely matches the color of a program you use often.



Saved me from 2004 to 2014 on sohh and coli, before I began working from home.

IT knows who surfs the web, but its the walker bys that run and snitch. Never had an issue, with this and most other young coworkers did. I work in graphics so we all surf the web, its when the salespeople walked thru and saw us not doing shyt.

well the only jobs i can get are minumum wage temp jobs. and its all the same people at these jobs. aint no promotions for us. we the bottom of the barrel so we stick together. us against the employers.

we treat are bosses like shyt cus we dont give a fukk if we get fired. we better off on benefits nikka.
