I wanted to do the DNA test at 23andme because I didn't know much regarding my father's racial background. He is from Venezuela. My mother is black and white.
Here are my results:
According to the23andme DNA results I am 44.9% European, 37.2% Sub-Saharan African, 10.3% East Asian and Native American, 2.4% Western Asia and North African, 0.2% Central and South Asian, and 5.0% Unassigned.
For the European category I am 14.3% British and Irish, 4.7% French and German, 9.3% Spanish and Portuguese and 2.3% Italian.
For the Sub-Saharan African category I am 10.7% Ghanaian, Liberian and Sierra Leonean, 9.6% Nigerian, 5.1% Senegambian and Guinean, 1.5% Angolan and Congolese, and 0.3% Southern East African.
For the East Asian and Native American category I am 9.3% Native American and 0.2% Chinese and Southeast Asian.
For the Western Asian and North African category I am 1.2% North African and 0.3% Arab, Egyptian and Levantine.
For the Central and South Asian category I am 0.2% Broadly Central and South Asian.
For the Unassigned category I am at 5.0%.
My maternal haplogroup is L3f1b1.
My paternal haplogroup is R-P311.
Also, I have 2% Neanderthal DNA.
Next, the Health and Traits Report. I have a slightly increased risk for these categories which worries me:
A. Age Related Macular Degeneration (My mother is currently 65 yeard old and has a small cataracts in her eyes)
B. Celiac Disease
C. Hereditary Thrombophilia (My mother has had issues with blood clots before)
D. Late-onset Alzheimer's Disease
E. Type 2 Diabetes
