i dunno about giving them props for those moves. Danny Ferry ain't shyt, and all they did was unload Johnson for expiring contracts...and they got nothing for Josh Smith. He just left.They didn't get any better with the moves, and it was a waste of 2 years/desperate move maxing Johnson in the first place...and not getting something for Smith turned out not to be a smart move.
They didn't even get a 2nd round pick for either of them.

actually, i was wrong about the details -
- The Nets traded their first round picks --unprotected-- in 2014, 2016 and 2018 to the Celtics. The 2015 and 2017 picks must be swapped if they are higher than the Hawks (2015) and Celtics (2017) picks.
- In the 2012 Joe Johnson trade, the Nets sent their second round in 2017 pick to Atlanta. It wasn't included in the original deal but the league required it because of a CBA technicality.
