There’s nothing redeeming about Texas at all, other than cheap housing and no state income tax. Other than that it’s horrible: hurricanes, no power in freezing conditions, religious zealots, dumb Qanon idiots, conservative idiots in congress, people thinking that the virus is a myth, etc., etc.

Abbot said business can still choose to require masks, but he's lifting the mandate. So dumb...you either believe masks are necessary or you don't. These businesses weren't in any position to enforce the mask mandate when it was there, they'll really have no ability to control people now.

Yup, California has tested at a rate over 50% higher than Texas. Which makes it likely that more Texas deaths are being missed, even though just with the ones that are counted they already have a death rate 15% higher than Cali's death rate.
Look at the chart of US deaths last year compared to the previous five years. And fukking idiots still want to talk like Covid hasn't been a huge issue.
